Business Challenge

Today’s traffic systems have become smarter, using advanced technology to address issues. One key challenge is reducing the reliance on police manpower while improving control over the traffic system. These innovations help cut costs and make our roads safer by effectively managing traffic flow. Intelligent Traffic Systems represent a subset of IoT, relying on cellular connections for sensors and controllers instead of the cumbersome installation of numerous cables and fixed lines.

Projects Technical Requirements:

  • The router must stay connected all the time. They should be able to wake up and transfer data from local storage to the central monitoring center when needed, for example, when triggered by an SMS or email.
  • Keeping data secure is crucial. Strong encryption methods like IPSec and GRE are preferred for added security.
  • The router needs to create a dependable and secure pathway for data transmission, ensuring data remains intact and protected from tampering.
  • It should work well in challenging conditions, such as extreme temperatures and strong vibrations, especially in areas prone to strong winds.

Solution

To meet these challenges, the O200 cellular router is the perfect solution. It has undergone thorough testing with numerous units in the field over the past few months, resulting in satisfied customers and hundreds of orders in production. This cellular router offers an authorized cellular number to configure or control the router, and SMS Alarm triggered by I/O. Its clear advantage becomes evident when compared to wired systems, which often face issues like theft and high maintenance costs after theft incidents.

In this project, IP cameras are seamlessly connected to a PLC, with all data transmitted to the monitoring center through a high-speed 4G LTE network. This network’s efficiency ensures smooth image and video transfer without loss or damage. This not only eases the burden on law enforcement personnel but also makes it a preferred choice among those working in the field. In essence, this solution addresses critical challenges in modern traffic management, contributing to safer and more efficient roadways.
